Artist Statement

Making my artwork is like fishing from a stream of conscious and unconscious thoughts with paper as the net. I often wonder what other people go through in their lives and how it may be similar to my ow n experiences. What secrets do they keep closed in and how much of the iceberg am I seeing? Diary enteris are raw and honest material filled with things "most people" tuck away. I'm interested in recreating that open honesty with myself by making the visual diary Open & Out. Without filtering the good, the bad and the ugly, I drew and wrote what was on my mind, knowing that I become more vulnerable with each page. Like an exposed nerve,I put myself out. Is there an elephant in the room or is it just me?
